Hunting expert Gerd G. von Harling / Cicero / 2021

For years the hunt had the image of an old man's custom with dusty traditions. But now more and more young people are discovering hunting for themselves - and are interpreting the cultural technology in their own way.
Together with the author Jan Karon I met the hunting expert Gert G. von Harling for Cicero Magazine in his house in Lüneburg. He is critical of the young generation of hunters: "Today young people from our urban society have decoupled themselves from nature. (…)Today young people sit on the high seat, write messages on Whatsapp and wait a few hours and then shoot game that runs in front of them. With infrared and thermal imaging cameras, people gain an advantage that has actually nothing to do with what hunting is all about.“
